The traditional curtain raiser for the new Premier League Season – the 2021 FA Community Shield between League Champions Manchester City and FA Cup winners Leicester City went down at the Wembley stadium, and it was “The Foxes” who came out on top – courtesy of a late Kelechi Iheanacho 89th minute penalty, as Leicester earned a 1-0 victory.
Prior to the fixture, City were the slight favorites but manager Pep Guardiola did not field his strongest line-up, though the matchday squad still boasted some of his finest personnel. Leicester City on the other hand, bore semblance of the team we have grown used to in the past, and were the better side throughout the clash.
