Chelsea player Jake Clarke-Salter have made a switch to Coventry on a season long loan. The 23-year-old defender made move after it became obvious that he had no place in the first team squad.
Jake Clarke-Salter who plays at centre back has been at Chelsea since he was 8 years old. He has played for different categories of Chelsea youth team going on to win the FA Youth Cup twice and the UEFA Youth League. He also captained the side before graduating to the under-21 side where he also rose to become the captain.
In 2016, at just 18 years old, he made his professional debut for Chelsea, replacing Pedro in Chelsea’s 4-0 thrashing of Aston Villa.
Skipper John Terry praised his attitude and performance in that game and hope that the young man will replace him one day.
However, things have not gone according to plan. Jake Clarke-Salter has become a notorious member of Chelsea’s famous loan army. He has been engaged in five loan spells in his five years as a professional footballer.
With this sixth loan spell to Coventry, it is becoming obvious that his future may lie elsewhere and not at Stamford Bridge.
Unfortunately, Terry’s hope may not come to realization.
