Another Politician Gives Reason For Decamping To APC

The Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has chided the member representing the Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Sam Onuigbo.

According to the DAILY POST, Onuigbo, who is currently serving his second term in office, abandoned the PDP in favor of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state.

The federal lawmaker cited the National Organizing Secretary of the PDP-Col. Austin Akobundu’s alleged denial of the opportunity to produce PDP ward executive members in the party’s 2020 congress in Ikwuano Local Government of the state (Rtd).

Atiku, speaking in Yola, the capital of Adamawa State, while paying a condolence visit to the late Ahmed Joda’s home, said that many Ahmed Jodas are being bred.

Atiku Abubakar, speaking to reporters shortly after meeting with Joda’s family, said the late statesman was instrumental in fostering Nigeria’s unity.

Kogi To Evacuate Students From UniJos

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state has moved to evacuate indigenes of the state studying at the University of Jos, Plateau State due to the ongoing mayhem in the city of Jos.

Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, told LEADERSHIP about it on Saturday.

According to Fanwo, the University’s decision to postpone the current examinations made it possible and easier to evacuate the students from Jos.

 He said the governor will continue to provide responsive leadership to Kogites.

Police nab kidnappers in Lagos

The police in Lagos have arrested two male kidnap suspects, who allegedly conspired and kidnapped an eight year-old child, Daniel Chukwudi, from his parents’ home.

CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, the command’s spokesman, revealed this in a statement on Saturday, emphasizing that the victim was allegedly kidnapped on July 12 and rescued six days later.

The suspects allegedly planned and executed their crime with the victim’s neighbor, who had unrestricted access to the family, according to Mr Ajisebutu.

He claimed the suspects kidnapped the victim from his parents’ home in Aboru, Ipaja, and took him to Lagos’ Ajangbadi neighborhood, where he was held for six days before being rescued.
