Joe Igbokwe has pleaded with the Inspector General of Police to come to his aid as IPOB has made threats to his life.
Igbokwe, an aide to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos State Governor has raised an alarm to the IGP that his life is being threatened by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) because he is against the philosophy of the organization and the Eastern Society Network (ESN).
Recall that a self claimed disciple of IPOB’s leader Nnamdi Kanu called Simon Ekpa had warned that Igbokwe should be ready to die because Kanu has witnessed the light at the end of the tunnel.
The Ohaneze Ndigbo Chieftain, Igbokwe, in a letter highlighted that ESN and IPOB are bandits bullying, threatening, killing and destroying the people of South-East region as well as Igboland.
Igbokwe addressed the letter to the Inspector General of Police, Anambra Police Commissioner, Commander of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Igbo Governors, House of Representative members and other stakeholders in Southeast.
The letter stated in part, that “I am certain that most of us have witnessed the continuous threat to my life and the life of those who don’t agree with the philosophy of IPOB and ESN Bandits on Biafra agitation through armed struggle.
“Today, these bandits feel they have the power over life and death. The bandits and children of hate said that they have banned me from stepping my feet into Igboland and that I should prepare to die.
“Blind people should not lead people with eyes. People who have no knowledge of their upbringing, pedigree or source of their living. People that we don’t even know their parents, are telling us that they are the owners of Igboland.
“We can’t take this hit anymore, we will confront history. I will not allow soap to enter my eyes when I have enough buckets of water .
“You don’t inform the deaf and dumb that war has started. When they see others running they will also join them in the race”.
