In what must be a saddening news for Liverpool fans worldwide, Jurgen Klopp has declared that it makes no sense to sign more players. According to him, Liverpool already has enough players to see them through this season.

While he recognised that it was necessary to make changes to the team, he insisted that for it to be done, there must be space for new players in the squad.

Speaking to TV2, Klopp said, “It is summer and the transfer window is open, then everyone expects some player signings. We will see what happens. Let’s go through the squad. Do you want to buy a new full-back? A new goalkeeper? We already have good players there.

“In midfield, we have players with a lot of experience, such as Thiago, Fabinho, [Jordan] Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita. In addition, we have exciting young boys in Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones. In the attack, we have Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Xherdan Shaqiri, Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi.

“I’ve definitely forgotten someone… If you want to buy such players, you have to spend a lot of money. We do not have to do that, because the players are already here.

“You have to make changes from time to time, but then there must be room to do it. We do not want more players. If something happens somewhere, something can happen somewhere else, but it makes no sense to add more players.”

Although Klopp made a fair point, he should be wary because the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and even Leceister City are all improving their team.

Guardiola spent a whopping, £100 million to bring Jack Grealish to the Ethad not withstanding that he had the likes of Sterling, De Brunye, Mahrez and others in his books.

Similarly, Manchester United also spent huge sums of money to acquire the services of Sancho and Varane.

Chelsea, who were crowned the Super Cup Champions yesterday are about to seal a deal worth €155 million which will bring Lukaku back to the club.
It is worthy to note that Chelsea spent about €150 million to improve their attacking force last season.

If Liverpool maintain their stance, they stand the risk of being left behind.
