Not less than two people were gunned down in Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Area, Anambra State, on Monday morning, August 9, by unknown gunmen. The gunmen also set three vehicles ablaze.
It was gathered that sounds of gunshots were heard, in the early hours of Monday. The Nations Newspaper reported that two lifeless bodies were found at a location called Izuchukwu Junction, in Nnewi North Local Government Area, Anambra state.
The assailants also destroyed three commercial buses. An abandoned Toyota Camry car, was also seen in the area. It was gathered the owner of the Camry abandoned the car and ran away, for the fear of the gunmen.
“We couldn’t believe our eyes when we came out to see two lifeless bodies of young men. Yet, nobody could explain who was responsible”, One of the residents said.
The spokesperson of the state police command, Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident and said that the details surrounding the incidents are sketchy
