Teachers are supposed to be well-educated in order to give the children knowledge that can make the students stand out in the future. They are supposed to be well tested by those in authority before being employed because they can give what they don’t have. But do you think the questions used to test teachers in Borno state are not substandard?
According to reports, Governor Babagan Zulum was said to have conducted an aptitude test for about 65 teachers in Borno state. The governor revealed to the public that this test was not conducted to dismiss teachers, but to determine their competence. He said those who are unable to pass this test will not be sacked, but will rather remain a teacher. While those who pass this test will be promoted or redeployed into the administrative department. One thing that has really caused a lot of reactions online is the kind of question given to these teachers as a test. Many believe these questions are so simple that even a primary school pupil will be able to answer such. Below is a picture showing the question given to these teachers as an aptitude test:

I will also suggest that indeed these questions are too poor for a teacher. I am certain that no teacher who truly knows his or her job will be able to fail such a test. This is just ordinary addition and division. The government would have used a more technical questions to test these teachers.
A teacher who will be unable to pass such a test will definitely be unable to impact knowledge to their students.
As a reader, what do you think about the kind of question given to these teachers.
