The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed has assured that Nigerians that the ban on Twitter will soon be lifted. The Minister made this known while speaking to House Correspondents.
This came after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa, which was presided over by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo.

Recall that a ban on the use of Twitter in Nigeria was placed by the Federal Government on June 5th, 2021.

This came after Twitter deleted President Muhammadu Buhari’s. It was said the post was genocidal in its meaning.
Buhari’s government claimed that such act amounted to a threat of Nigeria’s status as a sovereign state.

During the interview, the Minister revealed that there have been a number of meetings between the country and Twitter. He also divulged agreement has been reached on some issues and the only thing left is to iron out few areas left.
