UCL DRAW: Chelsea will likely play these three(3) clubs in the group stage

Chelsea will be looking forward to retaining their UEFA Champions League trophy when the competition begins, but that will be after the draw must have been held.

Thomas Tuchel led Chelsea to lift the Champions League trophy after beating league rivals Manchester City 1-0 in the final in May.

All eyes will be on The Blues when the draw for the group stages of the UEFA Champions League is held on Thursday as fans will be waiting to know where they will be paired with and which group they will fall.

Chelsea has already begun their English Premier League campaign on a high winning their two opening matches. These come after they also beat Villarreal to lift the Super Cup earlier in August.

Chelsea cannot be drawn against United, Liverpool, or Man City given Uefa rules state two teams from the same association cannot face each other at this stage.

Also, since they have been seeded in pot one with Villarreal, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Lille, Sporting Libson, and Manchester City, they will not be meeting any of these teams in the group stage.

Now a formidable side to reckon with, here are three teams that may fall into the same group with Chelsea in the group phase of the UEFA Champions League.

1. Paris Saint-Germain: Chelsea will have their work cut out for them if they are grouped against French giant PSG.

The Ligue 1 side is complete with world-best player Lionel Messi and forward Neymar as they are desperate to win the Champions League.

Other teams seeded in pot 2 are Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Manchester United, Liverpool, Sevilla, and Borussia Dortmund.

2. Ajax: The defending champions should get ready for real work if grouped with Eredivisie giants Ajax Amsterdam.

Ajax is seeded in port 3 with FC Porto, RB Leipzig, Atalanta, Zenit, Besiktas, Dynamo Kyiv, and one team still to be confirmed.

3. AC Milan: United could face a rejuvenated AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League group stage if both teams fall in one group.

Pot 4 of the seeded teams has Club Brugge, Marseille, Young Boys/Ferencvaros, AC Milan, Ludogorets/Malmo, Wolfsburg. Two teams will be decided before the draw date.
