Chelsea vs Norwich

Chelsea welcomed Norwich city to the Stamford bridge staduim on Saturday afternoon in a highly anticipated premier game.

The blues were without Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner and needed to pull off a big performance to defeat a Norwich side that were looking for their first league win of the season.

The Londoners started the game with much intent and it didn’t take long for them to put themselves ahead with Mason Mount scoring with less than eight minutes on the clock. Hudson Odoi doubled Chelsea’s lead few minutes later while right back Reece James made sure the first half ended in a 3-0 advantage to the home team.

The blues increased their lead in the second half through Ben Chilwell’s 62nd minute goal before an own goal from Max Aarons and a late double from Mason Mount saw the game end in a convincing 7-0 win for the blues who tightened their grip at the top of the table.

Arsenal vs Aston Villa

Arsenal hosted Aston Villa at the Emirates stadium on Friday evening in the first fixture of match week 9 in the English Premier league. The Gunners started the game on the front foot and it didn’t take long for Mikel Arteta’s side to put themselves ahead as Thomas Partey headed in his first goal for the London side.

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang doubled Arsenal’s lead just before halftime after Alexandre Lacazette drew a penalty from Matt Targett.

The Gunners increased their advantage early in the second half after Smith Rowe latched on to a through pass from Pierre Emerick Aubameyang in the 56th minute. Aston Villa pulled a goal back in the 82nd minute through Jacob Ramsey but it was too little, too late as the home side held on for a comfortable 3-1 win.

Chelsea consolidate their position at the top of the table while their London counterparts Arsenal move into 9th place on the log.
