Seems teachers qualified for promotions have a reason to smile as the ministry of education has announced of a plan to have their wishes granted.
The standard newspaper reports of a looming promotion of over 2400 teachers. This promotion is set to target teachers from both primary and secondary schools.
Teachers service commission led by Dr Nancy Macharia has announced that candidates viable for promotions will be interviewed as from next week. This interviews are meant to fill in the vacancies left by outgoing principals and headteachers in various secondary schools in the country. In a statement sent to newsrooms by the ministry, qualified candidates are therefore urged to brace themselves for a regressive interviews.
This announcement comes as a boost to many teachers who have been making complains for being neglected despite having the qualities it takes for the promotions. Many school boards have been complaining to government to have the slots of former principals and headteachers be filled to ensure smooth running of school activities.
