Having won the Premier League, City were one of eight teams in Pot 1, with the hope that they would have avoided one of the giants in the second pot.

However, with PSG only finishing as Ligue 1 runners-up last term, they were the team put with City in Group A.

Pep Guardiola’s side dumped the Parisians out of last season’s competition, beating them 4-1 on aggregate in the semi-final.

It was an ill-tempered affair, with the second leg in Manchester punctuated by a series of scuffles in the closing minutes.
